IAH Award for Ghislain de Marsily

On the occasion of the UNESCO International Conference on Transboundary Aquifers (Paris, 6–8 December 2010), the IAH President’s Award was presented to Professor Ghislain de Marsily. The President’s Award is given in recognition of outstanding international contributions to groundwater science and to furthering the Association’s mission to promote understanding and management of groundwater resources in the interest of humankind and the environment.

The Annual General Meeting 2010 (in Dutch: algemene ledenvergadering) of the IAH Netherlands’ Chapter will take place on Wednesday 1 December 2010.
 
Krakow Declaration on the Protection of Groundwater Quality

The Krakow Declaration on the Protection of Groundwater Quality, produced at the excellently organized XXXVIIIth IAH Congress, held 12–17 September 2010 in Kraków, Poland, calls on Governments, UN Agencies and other multi- and bilateral agencies, and seeks to ensure that their policies on water resources management on national and regional levels should recognize, inter alia, the important role of groundwater in water quality management.
