Updated version (2.25) of MLU for Windows – UNESCO edition

Version 2.25 of the UNESCO IHP edition of MLU is available. New features include conversion between metres and feet. MLU for Windows is an analytical groundwater modelling tool to compute heads and drawdowns, analyse a variety of aquifer test data and design well fields in layered aquifer systems. Also new in this version is the option to import images (such as maps!) that can be displayed as background in contour plots. This includes BMP, PNG JPG, GIF and most TIFF files.

 
Presentations colloquim on water and rights available

On 22 September 2010 a colloquium on «The right to water and water rights in a changing world» was held at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft. The presentations and a report are now online.

 
IHP sessions during 2010 World Water Week
UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme (IHP) co-organized a couple of interesting and well-visited sessions during the 2010 World Water Week in Stockholm. Read more on the IHP Events page.
 
UNESCO Director-General to visit flood zones in Pakistan

UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova will visit flood-stricken zones and meet with national and regional authorities during a visit to Pakistan on 31 August 2010.

 
Director-General expresses her condolences and pledges UNESCO’s support for flood victims in Pakistan
The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, expressed her sadness and concern about the unprecedented devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan, and pledged UNESCO’s support for the victims of the disaster.
